The landmark in the heart of the Valtiberina
The medieval city is considered to be one of the most suggestive and well conserved city of Italy “ borghi piu' belli d'Italia” and , because of this, the village has been awarded with the orange flag of Touring Club, and with the price “ Città Slow ” for the very high quality of life that it is possible to experience here.
The city is located on a hill that looks at the Umbro-Tuscany plane offering a stunnig view and landscape crossed by Tevere river.
Hotel Meridiana, that is located very close to a theater from XVII century, can be easily reached by car. Being located in the core of Anghiari, it is possible to walk out of the hotel and visit the city centre by foot ( cars are not allowed inside), walking through alleys full of flowers, ancient staircases, intimate squares, old houses made by stones. Anghiari is located in a strategic position among 3 different Italian regions: Tuscany, Umbria and Emilia Romagna, in less than half an hour by car it is possible to reach some of the best historical cities in Italy like Florence, Arezzo, Siena, Cortona, Assisi, Gubbio, Urbino, Orvieto, San Marino. It is very easy to reach Meridina Hotel by car thanks to the E45 fast way Ravenna-Orte. One you’re there , exit in “Sansepolcro” and follow the street signs indicating Anghiari. Once there, follow the indications “centro Storico/hotel la meridiana”. Otherwise take the highway A1, and exit in “Arezzo”, once there, follow the signals for Anghiari and Sansepolcro ( SS73/E78).
HOW TO REACH US BY TRAIN
Take the train (Ferrovie dello Stato Italiano)and get off in Arezzo Station. From Arezzo Railway station take Sita or Baschetti bus for Sansepolcro/ Città di Castello ( the bus station is exactly in front of Arezzo railway station) and get off in Anghiari stop ( city centre) in front of Bar Golf.
